Aye but the weather was not as nice when you did it30 years ago I did the same
its a Fourtrak it will be like chasing a hare trying to find some good metal to tack toOooooooh, this could be a very interesting thread, I will have to follow this, as there will be lots of pictures of professional welding , bit of something for us to admire while having our evening cuppa before bed,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

How bad is chassis?Is there no-one who does or imports Daihatsu chassis ?
I have an otherwise mint ‘94 Sportrak and would be interested.

• Offside Rear Floor excessively deteriorated floor to chassis mount excess corrosion (6.2.4 (a) (i)) - MAJOR
• Offside Integral body structure or chassis has excessive corrosion, seriously affecting its strength within 30cm of a body mounting sill excess corrosion near front seat mounts (6.2.2 (d) (i)) - MAJOR
Advisories:
• Exhaust has a minor leak of exhaust gases silencer (6.1.2 (a))
• Nearside Front Service brake fluctuating, but not excessively (1.2.1 (e))
• Offside Front Service brake fluctuating, but not excessively (1.2.1 (e))
• Nearside Front Outer Brake pipe corroded, covered in grease or other material (1.1.11 (c))
• Offside Front Outer Brake pipe corroded, covered in grease or other material (1.1.11 (c))

That was 2019, is my ocd BIL’s vehicle from new and he has replaced it with a new style Jimny but doesn’t want to move it on.
I’m sure it will bodge but I think he wanted an excuse to get a new Jimny so it’s just taking up valuable space in a shed now.Doesn’t seem too bad to me
