Reseeding very old ley. Tyfon pioneer crop

I'm thinking of sowing Tyfon in the next two weeks, Early May. Land 10 acres sprayed next week and direct drilled with tyfon. In early August , would rotorvate and sow grass and clover seeds. Lime and PK would be applied now for the Tyfon. Any advice?

Looking at doing just the same here. Spraying off & DD’ing in a week or so, then graze and reseed to grass in late August.
I’d echo @Great In Grass in saying there are better options than Typhon now, and it’s not as if it’s particularly cheap, for what it is.

Why rotovate? The soil is normally conditioned beautifully after growing and grazing a brassica crop ime.

Get it in the ground and hope it rains.

Depending on how clean the ground is after the crop has been grazed off, you might not need to rotovate, spring tines or anything similar might be enough to get a bit of tilth, don't go lifting up and making ground puffy for the sake of it as you will only need to press it back down again.

Don't dawdle when it comes to putting the grass in afterwards, warm soil makes it get going faster and away from the slugs. If the field is dirty in August you can whip over with reduced rate roundup if necessary.

Thanks. I Thought Tyfon was the fastest growing and it could be grazed quickly over a month July/August, the main use is to make sure I kill off the old sod and the grass clover ley would really get a good start. But I am willing to think all ideas.
