Robotic milking

Ouch fair depreciation then, what would they of cost originally roughly? Having said that hopefully milked some cows over the years/put some milk through
They would have milked some cows however not so much last few years. They’ll of sapped some electric and service charges too in that time.
I’m sure they had a good price for 6. My 1 Fullwood was £85k and Lely was £105k at the time.

Robots are for everyone, but then neither is milking cows.

Know of a parlour farm where if they are busy cows might only get milked once a day, been told of a robot farm where the Mrs goes out at 5am and 5 pm and has to push the cows in from grazing.

Just as well have a parlour then?

Yes we have seen more than we should, we have tried many different things, we have the brushes set to clean longer after brushing and have started using a PvP iodine spray which leaves a slight film on the teats.
My theory is that a cow leaves the robot and goes and lies down and this is when muck comes into contact with an open teat canal, either off the bed or her leg/feet.
It can be demoralising but we haven't seen as many cases recently.

Ours seem to go in waves we have nothing for months and then suddenly 3 in 10 days. Its very demoralising, especially when t4C can't notify you of a sick cow via text. We check the computer at 10pm at night but still have a gap for them to develop overnight and turn sometimes nasty. Currently speaking with scr to set up a connection for notifications as lely not interested!

LD tags have been a help to detect cases quicker with more regular data

We had a really bad time with ecoli this spring. We started using toxin binder with the feed and it was a big help .
I feel moulds in feed is a major source of ecoli .
