I aim for about 3/4 of a kg/ac for swedes or maincrop turnips now, rising to a kg/ac for stubble turnips a bit later, perhaps a tad higher late in the season.

All a bit of guesswork tbh, as a kg/ac of swedes is far too high if you get fantastic germination & establishment, but too low if it’s a catchy time and half of them fail. 3/4 of a kg/ac seems like a halfway house.

Ahh, come back from nz before lambing, dd swedes seemed popular after pasture followed by kale, think they where using 1kg/acre, rooots end up too small if they are thick on don’t they?

If they all grow, yes, ending up with a field of cricket balls.
