RPA Mapping of a Solar Farm

18 months ago or so, I had an RPA Inspection, happily all OK and I was a happy bunny.

The guy doing the work was a really nice bloke and as he finished, we were having the asked for debrief ,and we were discussing a couple of fields on the farm which I had dropped of the SFP, as they had PV panels in. "That isn't right," he said, "I'll map them and get that put right"

He duly toddles off with his colleague/Supervisor and came back an hour later, all done. THe small paddock with the domestic ground mount was easily done. the solar farm I was not expecting much....

However, this evening, I had an email from the RPA to read a message, and I logged on and found an RPA mapping adjustment had been done. My heart sank!! I have seen and heard of too many horror stories over the past 2-3 years. However....

The 5 meg solar farm here is essentially 20 ac over two blocks of land. The perimeter of .50ha has been added as eligible area, but what was far more pleasing, is that internally, the land area without panels has also been mapped and added as eligible area. 2ha or so

No real benefit but nice to have had done. Respect to the Inspector.(y)
