Does anyone have a breakdown of apportionment of cost involved in running various equipment.
The likes of a tractor and trailer?
% wages
%tractor
%trailer
% fuel

TIA

Wages self employed £14 an hour. Employed would be nearer 18 by the time u pay holidays, sick pay, stamp etc etc etc. Tractor. Costs me about 10 to 12. But that's a smaller tractor being looked after and ran by my self. Some of the bigger tractors would need 20 to 30 I would think. Local farmer is saying his 939 has cost him 20 in depreciation alone. Fuel. I work on a average of £7 an hour but depends massively on job. Trailer. About 5 to 10 an hour depending on spec and size.
More details required to give you an accurate answer. There is a contractor round here supplying a 300hp tractor + 16t trailers for 25 an hour plus diesel. Every one will have a different view of there costs.

It would depend on size and value of tractor but I'd suggest the driver will be the biggest cost, the likes of a trailer isn't going to be much compared to say a muck spreader
