They will do.
You can fit new pins and bushes to take out the slack. You could add a shim washer each side to take some sideways movement out but dont take all the movement out in case you got some movement in main boom pivot sideways or flex in it.

These rams are prone to snaping off.
Try not to add extra stress to them by lifting with tilt in full dump position or lowering with tilt in full crowd position.
You could check the tilt circuit releif valve pressures by teeing in to the tilt circuit pipes and doing exactly what I just told you not to so you can see what they are blowing off at. Correct pressure is stamped on the end of tye circuit releif valve located either side of the tilt spool section.
The pressures are always a bit high I feel so like to turn them down abit anyway. still wont stop rams banging about though.

More likely the bang is coming from the slack in main lift ram pin bushes.
If you are crowding it hard back the comp rams will lift the boom up taking all weight off lift ram showing up the wear as soon as you release to tilt boom will crash back down same as any handler does.

Hi there. I have read alot of your guidance posts in here and this tread seems to be the closest to my issue. I have a Solo and I my tilt doesn't seem to want to crowd back to the stops when the times are on the ground. I have just resealed the compensator rams at the rear as they had a slight weep. This is very annoying picking 3 high empty potato crates and you can't slightly crowd back. Any ideas, could it be to do with the relief valve.

Nothing to do with relief valves or self leveling rams, it will be the head stock pins and bushes and the holes all worn. really common for sandersons because they have very little crowd back when the boom is on the ground.

You should also check the tilt ram piston isnt partly unscrewed off the rod, this does happen and the first tell tail sign is less crowd back angle, the second sign is the rod falls out fo the cylinder when the remaining threads pull out of the piston :X3:

Thank you for your rapid and clear response. Looks like I need to get the ram off and checked out.
