Sawbench still not cutting right

So to follow up the last thread... She still doesn't cut right. Blade has been off to EPS and they hammered it and sharpened it. Still getting hot in the middle of the blade. Is there anybody who would be able to come out and look at the saw and find out what's broken? It's still getting hot in the middle of the blade and thus not cutting right (no power, slips belt, belt falls off pulley.)

That's a link to the other post I made.

Sounds like the collar plates are not gripping the blade. Daft question but do you have a spacer washer from shaft size to saw blade centre hole size. If so is this washer slightly thicker than the saw blade. (It should be thinner)

Blades spinning on the centre hub, check fitment any play will result in a slipping stalling blade.

It slips the belt I don't think it slips the blade. If it were slipping on the hub surely it would not slip the belt?

Could this bearing have anything to do with it? Its the belt side not the saw side, but maybe that stops it from being in alignment?

Blade has a pin like this one shows so I don't think it would be slipping?

by the look of the shaft I’d say you’re getting some sideways movement there that won’t help, perhaps it might start flashing around under load on the belt? Get a lever bar all round it and see what moves.

I don’t want to offend but it really sounds like you’re a bit lost on this. Perhaps some old boys from a local wood yard could come round and advise..... should only cost some beer money!

In my original post at the top i asked if anybody knew of someone who could come and have a look at it. I really dont have a clue, just doing the best i can with what i know.

is the shaft worn in that bearing? looks like a step by it

Yes i think the shaft is worn in that bearing. It is packed up with led and does get a bit warm, however that bearing is a good few feet from the blade so no chance of the heat reaching the hub of the blade

I was also thinking, if the blade was out of alignment surely the outside would get hot not the middle? It is heating right in the center round the nut, only a couple of inches then it is stone cold again.

fair play, must be someone local you can drop in on though.

is it running fast enough? You say the belt slips off, a lack of rotational speed might be the cause of poor cutting and an unstable blade. The torque required increases as speed reduces so this could be the cause of heat in the blade maybe?

its a belt pulley on a 135. had it going about 1500 RPM cause if you go too fast it seems like the whole thing is going to fall apart and break. Also if there wasnt enough speed would the outside of the blade not heat rather than the center?

Other question... do you have a ripping blade or a cross cutting blade? They cut quite differently but I don't know if that could be the cause of your trouble.

If you took a picture of the blade as it sits in the bench it would be helpful, together with a picture of it dismantled, Ie holding plates, blade, guides, locking nut and washers.
