How’s the barley @pine_guy ?
Failed miserably :( mixture of the no rain for weeks after sowing and the 5inch feet too wide and shoots didn’t find the slot. A lot made it to the surface then ran out of puff. Since we got some rain, it has improved, ie mor plants arrived, but not worth keeping by any means.

The spring oats that @hally put in with the Moore look much more promising. Although they struggled a bit in the dry. Have one bit not so cleaver where I emptied my sprayer after washing out, two days after I sprayed it off, I couldn’t find a shoot never mind a plant, but has defiantly knocked it :banghead:

It’ll be late but intend to whole crop it, so no stress. Not sure what to do with the failed field.

Not too late to go again. I've put barley in on the 10th of June and wholecropped it in mid September. It will grow like stink because it's so warm especially now it's rained so much.

i'm not doubting it:).....but..in general i'm a bit confused:scratchhead:....for years chlorpyrifos was used but i keep reading threads about ppl drilling cereals into pp:scratchhead:
We sprayed off a ley last autumn and direct drilled wheat - every bit as good a crop as our other wheat. We have drilled reseeds for customers since the loss of chemical control for the pests but seen no issues. Where we being hoodwinked by the chemical companies?
