Scotsqueeze sheep clamp

I don't have a problem with the combi clamp by any means but it does everything it does but with the added bonus you can step off the pedal to chase them up or grab something quickly. Granted you probably wouldn't change a combi clamp for one of these but if u had neither and they were similar money what would you pick.....

I agree totally - my point was I can't see them being similar money. Will be very surprised if Scotclamp is not at least double that of a combi - hence my comment about it making the combi look cheap.
Happly to be proved wrong.

Did you have a demo where they wouldn't run?
Plenty of people do use them alone. Set up right and with a half decent dog behind. Let them run through a time or 2 without stopping to get used to it.

I did have a problem with a group of lambs the other day that just would not run. Don't know why, 2 of us had a job to keep them running. Think that would have been the same even with an auto job. I said then I should have just let them run through a time or 2. Next group were no issue at all. Not had a group like it before.

Weighing is the only time I really wish it was automated, cos it doesn't seem to zero accurately if I get off the tread plate to poke the odd one up.

Not had a demo... but know what they can be like even just up the shedding race.

Probably if they were run through before using they may get better.

Iv nowhere in the pens to place one to make it work though. I'm currently trying to redesign pens for rebuilding (STILL!!. I will get it done one of these years...) but space is very limited and I'm struggling to see how to incorporate a combiclamp to make it work properly (1-man operation is vital). I can't put in long curves or anything like suggested in previous threads, site just can't accommodate (size, shape and slope are all a royal pain!). I'd be better with a mobile yard and forget about it all...

if you are genuinely interested in a scotsqueeze clamp you can call 01592 328862 or 07597087055, they are plenty cheaper than you would think especially for full specs.

whats the different specs that you do james , ! welcome to TFF
You can have just a race and the clamp or race, clamp, shedder in one chassis with a trailer and also weigh scales, working getting tag reader and auto drafting. You can get anything inbetween that, its up to you but i dont know the exact price but if you phone up im sure youll get sorted out with that, trust me alot cheaper than you may think.

I'm not sure it's happening. When I spoke to him he seemed more interested in developing something activated by the sheep itself (mechanically) but it was all just ideas.
