What is the density of the existing sward? Don’t want to put a dampener on it but I haven’t had much luck overseeding with my Opico/Air 8 unless there is a LOT of bare soil visible.

Not overly dense by the time it comes to be overseeded.
I possibly might just carry on with my reseed programme if I can’t get a seeder at handy money, can do a bit of reseed for the price of a new unit

Have a look at Bullock Tillage for a new one. Most of the used ones are going to be similar money to a new Bullock (there is an Apv model which is similar money, if not a little bit more than the Bullock I believe) and all it takes is a fault in the control box or a goosed fan to make the likes of a used Opico or Stocks cost more than a new machine.
Sometimes a used Techneat can pop up on eBay. Alternatively get a slug pellet spreader and pick your days

Someone on here bought car fans that were the same as the Opico from a automotive shop I think for less than £100 each.
