Finding the world of sfi schemes a bit confusing at best, but looking at what schemes may suit my land we produce haylage for horses on all our acres so not exactly sure what schemes may be suitable as I don’t want any clover in the mix ideally.

any suggestions?

How much fertilliser are you putting on the grass? Could Low Input grassland with a hay making supplement work? Where abouts in the country are you? GSC Grays offer a free SFI appraisal looking at what SFI options best suit your farm, funded through DEFRA.

You can stack the haymaking supplement (grh7) on top of low input grass (clig3) according to the expanded 2024 sfi. Does anyone know if you can add the haymaking supplement to lig3 that went into sfi a few months ago under 2023 rules?

Apparently not
Just fyi I've just read the latest missive from DEFRA and the wording of guidance has now changed for GRH7 to say that it can now be carried out on LIG3 or LIG1 from SFI 2023 if any help.

They have also said you can claim the cattle grazing supplement and the haymaking one on the same parcel bringing it up to £367/ha, or £397/ha if you go for the late cut haymaking option.
