Shed building corners

Hi All,
I've seen a lot of information on here on putting up sheds and just had a few questions about the corner posts. How much concrete do you need in each corner before you bolt the beam? Also, how much should you fill up after? If the ground is a clay like soil do i need to dig it deeper and pack it up with some shale or will it not sink? The shed we intend to put up is a 60ft x 30ft with 3 x 20ft bays.

Always use the same in each hole, around 2ft 6 ins square and between 2 and three ft deep, biggest we have done was 65 ft wide, perhaps if it really exposed you could use a bit more, but it's more the bracing that stops sheds moving rather than the footings. We have an old stone barn that the roof is just sat on the top its weight has held it in place for nearly 300 years

A 60x30 shed isn’t massive so won’t need particularly big holes for the footings, although as with all sizes of building, it is important to dig down to firm ground which might mean needing to dig deeper. There is no need to put any stone under the concrete.

20 ft bays 1m sq 900mm deep with 650mm of concrete set bolts @ 350 below intended floor level then cap them of with concrete when erected no need for corner posts to be any bigger at all, assuming good clay or shale/ gravel at this level we did a big grain store near Berwick on tweed over 5 ft to get through top soil sub soil

We did one job and the farmer insisted on one 6 m load for 17 holes and sent his mrs round with a wheelbarrow full of bricks to put in holes to make concrete go further
Sounds like my grandad, the lads that were putting a the shed up were poring concrete, he was chucking bricks in my dad got splattered in concrete trying to pull them out.

its called cyclopean concrete, not sure ive spelled that correctly,

alot of old reservoirs that are concrete filled were/are filled with huge boulders to reduce the concrete, there is no issue really as said above the concrete is for basalt to stop it lifting in most cases.
