What size of tanker is on the 996?
I would think its 125hpWhat hp would that be with the turbo?
I would think its 125hp
I have a non turbo 1594 as well and its like chalk and cheese. You do need fog lights on the turbo tractor to see through the smoke mind
Do they really have that much power? I am thinking of changing my main tractor for something a bit over 100hp but hadn't considered this option. Would they be mostly knackered now though?
It’s common knowledge on here that it’s possible to soup a DB 1954 up to well over 500hp....Do they really have that much power? I am thinking of changing my main tractor for something a bit over 100hp but hadn't considered this option. Would they be mostly knackered now though?
I thought on this thread, as someone who already owns a DB, I'd be safe to ask such a question...
@Selectamatic - It's only approx 90hp. On heavy land it struggles a bit here and there. Now obviously if I was a contractor or had loads more land I wouldn't consider such an idea, but if I could buy a bit more power that was affordable then I might be tempted to buy another DB.
And @Drillman - as a relative newcomer to the forum, I never got to experience the full on assault of DB John's endless antagonisms on here (though the fact I've even heard of him says something...) Nevertheless his reputation has helped keep DBs affordable to scrotes like me.
I saw this at a sale opposite the Old Factory at Meltham and fell in love with it, after i brought it, I had to take it over t'road for a few photos.
Strange to think that it drove through those gates when brand new, where it was made, over 40 years ago.
