yesIf that's out on the Eastern county's I think your friend is correct, presumably your friend has to bale it and chase it?
No , straw should be traded by the ton only .Thinking of selling good round bales of barley straw off field.
Does £18 a bale loaded sound about right?
That wasn't the question and I've sold thousands by the bale.No , straw should be traded by the ton only .
Why do you say that?No , straw should be traded by the ton only .
If you can get that this year I think you will be doing ok.Thinking of selling good round bales of barley straw off field.

@lloyd we're thinking similar. £18 - £22 4ft6 belt baler

I don’t think long until we are down at £10-12 tbh
You get your £18 whilst you canSome nice little bales with a claas 44 and you could well be right.
I have capacity if it's not close but we will see.You get your £18 whilst you can
I had similar in mind for ours. We've had a new baler and amazed how much you can get in a 4'6 round. Just got to get my customers to see there more in the new bales.@lloyd we're thinking similar. £18 - £22 4ft6 belt baler
Going on past experience,that will be difficult.A round bale is just the same as any round bale to most farmers...I had similar in mind for ours. We've had a new baler and amazed how much you can get in a 4'6 round. Just got to get my customers to see there more in the new bales.

could argue if twas dry or notbuy by the ton, no argument then.
I think now is the perfect time to agree a price from a straw producers prospective be that standing straw or bales or whatever. Stock has been selling well and barns are empty.I have capacity if it's not close but we will see.
That's far cheaper than buying at standing straw
sales will be in the southwest or Welsh borderlands.
