Simple crop recording

I’m looking for a very simple crop recording package. I want to record what happens in each field and then allocate the costs such as chemical, seed and establishment harvest etc. I don’t want it cloud based and it won’t connect to our agronomist as he’s old school paper based. I’m not spreadsheet literate so can’t throw anything together myself. Budget probably £250 or thereabouts.

What level of compliance information can it hold? Looks quite simplistic from their website...can you do LERAP, tank mix instructions, water volumes, stock?
Worth downloading and trying it out. Up to 10 inputs it is free of charge. Support is good too.

no - but the OP didn't ask for that..."very simple crop recording" is exactly what field margin is. If you want everything else you've described there is nothing to beat gatekeeper at present.

If you look in the Computers & IT forum, there are various discussions about software.

IMO you'd be better off learning about how to use spreadsheets - you can tailor make your own package. There are lots of evening classes in IT skills.

Second that.

Spend some time learning Excel, etc...

It's surprising what you can come up with in not much time, I spend hours tinkering around with it. Still using Office 2007 too...

Fieldmargin have just added inputs to the software... looking a serious contender to gatekeeper.

Thanks @farmerfred86 - we are adding the features we get asked for the most and our users (in 80 countries now) needed a lightweight way to plan and keep track of input usage. So we've launched the first version of that. We have in app reporting and we're adding a CSV download for the excel-fans too.

Tank mixes and water usage can be handled already (add water as an input) and we are making job sheets printable for those who don't want to work from their phone. In conjunction with the all-you-can-eat NDVI mapping we are confident that people can make better decisions in season.

Let me know if anyone wants more information. support... at... fieldmargin.com

Good advice.
Used to do everything on paper. Now made a spreadsheet for the stuff I need, plus you only need to write the formulas once, then just a yearly fill in.

Miss Zippy keeps threating to make a "pivot" table in excel to hold ALL crop information?‍♂
I'm happy with the knowledge I have on excel to deal with our moderate acreage

Me to ?. Still reaping the merits of a university degree?
