Single rotor lift

What sort of electric Hydraulic valve is used to give individual rotor lift on a Twin rotor rake, I know it can be double piped into 2 spools but would prefer a right-both-left toggle switch

You could also do it with a three way tap if needed but it’s a bit of a pain having to open window and reach the tap when doing the awkward bits

Personally I would fit an electric normally closed on / off solenoid to one end of each ram. Then just an ON OFF ON switch.

When you have power to a solenoid that rotor will not be able to be lifted / lowered.

Used to have a krone that everything could be altered on a box it cab then moved to a new rake which was double piped, thought it would be awful but a far better system. Need 2 hands to operate switch and spool but just one hand if both spools are together

Just an idea, plumb it up with 2 pipes into 2 spools but tee them together with a normally closed valve like I posted before between. Power it from the sidelights.

Then work either spool to lift and lower both rotors together normally. Flick the sidelights on and hey presto individual rotor lift on the levers.

I made this exact thread about 12 months ago, I was adamant it was how I wanted it. We just had the new rake piped to 2 spools in the end, electric spools on a multicontroller arm rest for me is a lot better than I thought it would be!

Could run it of the beacons outlet instead as no reason to have beacons on while raking.

Unless you have a grassmen stickers, a vest on, air horns on the roof, orange tinted shades and regularly use the term #bigjobsonly

Could run it off the indicators left for left only up and right for right only up

I need to convert the independent rotor lift on a rake from manual (hydraulic pipes in cab with a lever operated valve) to electric control. Am I right in thinking I need a 3 position solenoid valve like this...

This is how ours came from new, i run it on individual spools but others like it on a single spool, each to their own.

I would've thought that if you have a joystick or 2 levers next to each other it's no harder to grab 2 at once than just one

Easy enough to do in the JD’s, the old TL100A is a bit harder!

Lifting on 2 spools is alright if you've got electric spools but you don't want to be pulling 2 levers all day every day. A joystick with lift on one spool, width adjustment on the other and electric control of independent rotor lift is what you want

Really hard to grab 2 spool levers that are 2.5 inches apart......
