Did well last year as it had done 2 years previous Will be growing it again
It suits us in all slots have plenty of combine capacity to keep quality and our modest average yields don't dillute the protein

Seems to be very lacklustre at tillering in the spring. Have some Sundance that's merrily tillering away at the mo but the skyfall has given up, will see what it yields like and go from there

Thing is, if you grow another Group 1 you have to lose sleep over the possibility of trying to control blossom midge.
But you can’t realistically do anything about OWBM now so no point worrying about something you can’t control. You just have to take the hit on yield and quality if conditions go against you before flowering.

i think Fromes' point is that you CAN do something - you can choose an OBM resistant variety in the first place.
So Skyfall over Zyatt ...unless the latter proves to be clear as day better in which case you have a risk on / risk off decision
Kerrin over Gravity etc etc

Says the man trying a bit of Gravity and Zyatt as well as 50 acres of Montana in an OBM hotspot......

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
