I’ve a mate who was going to buy a new. Mf 77180 vario last September
He was told that build time was 16 weeks . For a few reasons he did not
order it
Dealer has been to see him last week . The tractor is the same price but now has 4 years interest free and they will chuck in a weight or discount gps to get a deal
Build time is 4 weeks
But dealer has 3 7720 in stock
Locally to there does not seem to be as many new tractors about that there was couple of years ago
Are dealers finding selling difficult at the moment

Definitely sensing of a slow down of machinery purchases in our area of generally mixed farms. Most people are feeling the continually increasing of our input costs whilst seeing no inflation, more like deflation in the products we sell.

According to their facebook pages local dealers are shifting things at scale, mowers, tedders, balers etc selling like hotcakes! 10x Mchale Fusions already this season by one dealer

Builders merchant said it was quite yesterday, this time of year they expect more orders than lorry’s available to deliver. Not surprising tractors are down with all the uncertainty about.

I think the greedy prices have gone too far actually. I’d have changed this year but when you’re quoted £100,000 to change for a new 155hp tractor it’s gone too far.

A new JD 6155M with all the options delivered here 3 months ago, cost was below 90k. If it's £100k to change what are you ordering new, and what are you swapping in for it? a 20yr old 20,000hr Fiat?

When I worked at main IH agent in mid wales 40 years ago the boss was
Careful not to have too much s/h harvest stuff at end of season.... I have often wondered how the company worked as they got rid of s/h tractors sometimes for a lot less than bought in price against new tractors...

It is not simply related to tractor prices or sales, the whole world is starting to slow down, just read any economists predictions for next year and so on, with all the global trade warmongering, brexit, EU growth rates slowing(or receding) and so on, we live in a cyclical world, and we are due a down turn anytime soon

Love a good downturn myself.

You said “to change” though. So what’s the delta - in other words I’d expect you to be changing from a similar spec 155 hp tractor.

To be fair we’re changing up a 17 year old tractor. Strange move but the 11 plate would semi retire to the feed wagon and the 16 plate become the 2nd tractor.

All our tractors are about the same size.
