Slurry channel bend

Looking to put a 1m x 1m slatted channel along front of sheds to take slurry that’s scraped out to the pit approx 80ft at furthest away . Majority will run straight then it will need to take a slight bend to work in along front of other shed as it sits out further. How do people do this? I was thinking just build by blocks the gaps & get a steel slatted top to fit the angle ?

We did something similar 30 plus years since just did all the Chanel in blocks, put a step down in the floor after the mend, to encourage slurry not to stick at the corner. Just put steel grids at doorways and padssages where the slurry was scraped to (4 grids on 100ft Chanel) and set up boards and props and just concreted over the Chanel

Interesting so you just have slats at doorways? I was going to slat the whole channel. Might still be cheaper using slats than shuttering etc over top

I’ve done some channels since, with precast u sections and concrete slats on top, that way is quicker, but it’s a sod to get the base of the hole right so the concrete slats fit to the right levels of the surrounding concrete. Also the slurry is easier to scrape down through metal grids than the concrete slats.

What bits to you want to see? Will try get some pics today. Please be aware that slurry channel was put in 1989 and the buildings have altered some what in that time. When the original slurry channel went in cows were housed in tin kennel houses with self feed silage and milked in a byre.
