Snow Clearance Providers

Anyone offering a Snow Clearance Service?

Looking for operated plant such as ploughs JCB's or similar.

We may not have experienced much snow this Winter Season in comparison to last Winter, however we are always seeking extra Snow Clearance provisions for our database.

Nationwide Winter Maintenance Company, message for further details on sites or e-mail me [email protected]

Thanks in advance

Thank you Gemma.

I gave up Highway clearance work as the mindless bureaucratic attitude of the Officer in charge was so frustrating. Being told that we could only plough in daylight on safety grounds was the final straw... On the road at 5 am when I was the ONLY person on the road, was a tad safer than ploughing amongst commuter traffic!!

we do highways stuff and don't suffer this issue - when they want / need us they don't seem to care ho its done juts that it is done

Snow clearance is big business here in Colorado, the highways are kept in good shape by CDOT (Colorado dept of transportation) but all the other stuff such as parking lots at business/hospital/schools etc are handled by private contractors.

A pickup with a blade on front can really get snow moved fast, for smaller jobs a four wheeler/ATV with a blade........once in a while a tractor.
Rates vary depending on location, in the Denver metro area I pay $50 hr for a guy with a shovel.......$110 hr for an ATV with a blade.........out here in the local rural town will be half that.

My suspicion was that the old County Council had practical men with years of experience, but when our Town went to a Unitary Council, all the old lads were left behind, and the desk jockeys took over and followed the book religiously...

The old rule of 2" snow and still falling and out we went, has gone, which didn't work when the locals were screaming to have roads cleared...

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
