It's been a whiteout here since 7am, thunder and lightning in a whiteout when feeding cattle on the hill is not nice.

Having holidayed in the Peak and Lake districts a fair bit, in summer, living up there in winter must be harsh. Around here we joke about people from North Devon or the Mendips as being a different breed but that is a different ball game up in those regions.

Lived in Scotland when I was young that was cold enough and that wasn't at altitude, either.

Serious amount here now, drifts are pretty bad. Daughter stranded at a Premier Inn in Glasgow. Roads gridlocked, lorries jackknifed etc, had to go to the shop in the tractor.

Near Lanark. Yeah, should be fine, the cows and sheep all have plenty of grub, will be out at first light if not before. Daughter quite happy in hotel. Thanks.
