In case you missed this lunchtimes webinar it is still not too late to register for this evening's webinar with Natalie Wood and Mark Tucker - 7pm Tuesday 2nd Feb 2021

Spring arable nutrition of wheat and other winter crops

Once winter cereals begin spring regrowth then that momentum needs to be maintained by making sure all the required nutrients are available when the crop needs them.

Topics covered include
  • Thoughts on soil nitrogen status and its impact on spring growth
  • Planning spring nitrogen according to different plant populations in cereals
  • Influence of the oilseed canopy on nitrogen recommendations
  • An update on Spring P&K
  • Importance of early micronutrients for energising early growth and grain number manipulation

Even if you missed the live webinars, you still haven't missed it because you can still watch it on-demand.

This was one of our most popular webinars yet with loads of Q and A's at the end so definitely worth watching.

I do not trust manufacturers on such webinars. This would need to be independent for me to even contemplate watching eg AHDB. Trials results from Yara, CF etc are hardly going to be advocating using less artificial fertiliser - which is what I want to learn about.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Firstly for your info our independently conducted trials are used along with many other trials by the AHDB to review mineral fertilizer recommendations as and when RB209 is reviewed. Making assumptions that our recommendations are higher is a dangerous one as you might be missing out on some useful knowledge - to give an example - over the last two years the Yara approach has recommended in the order of 100 KgN/ha less than RB209 on a wheat crop. Our target is to improve Nitrogen Use Efficiency I.e. getting more crop from less nitrogen. Always happy to discuss crop nutrition, so please feel free to make contact.
