Contractor friend has been drilling today with a combi on some very light sandy brash, lets just say there is no dust present and stuff he drilled before the snow has just chitted. Mine is all still in the bags and will be for quite some time.

I drilled some yesterday with my minimat and rolled this morning. Even tempted to drill beet this afternoon but decided against it because of the forecast. Two thirds of my land is ready to go the rest is too wet as it is full of artesian springs. I can't even walk on parts of it.

I was told it’s very expensive and short supply. More blackgrass farmers are turning to spring crops and lower yields of seed crops last harvest. Or it could be profiteering

Possibly not the same with SB but I never order all my wheat before harvest when the merchants are saying it’s going to run out. I never know if I can get it all planted after maize so I often have November deliveries. Always varieties on my shortlist that arrive. Delivery is always quick too.

Won’t be planting barley for a week here. Ploughed a little today and it’s quite wet.

2014 we got our best yielding sb drilled middle of March, heavy land winter ploughed drilled with combi in very good conditions, yielded 3.6ton acre, last year drilled 22april into dust on strong land, some didn't germinate until rain in May, did 3 ton acre, no longer panic too much about drilling date, it's all about how well it goes in not when on our land.
what variety gave you 3.6t/acre? not many get that up here

Mine will be a little while before it's drilled [emoji16], I almost thought about drilling this a few days after it was lifted in Feb, glad I didn't

Looks like most people won’t be drilling until April at the earliest with this kind of regular moisture top-up being forecast. :( Especially with this weekend’s snow on its way.

Anyone with spare drilling output could make a few £ this Spring. ;)

Looking in my diary this morning, I was nearly wrapped up with barley drilling this time last year.
