Has anyone else noticed herbicides not being that effective.did our su + cmpp mix which usually cleans everything up but slow and some not gone at all.Maybe it is a new flush after quite a bit of rain. Fat hen and fumitory seem worse

Not used any herbicides! Little bit of fat hen here and there and a few headland cleavers. Main issue is the varying maturity.
I waited as long as possible when it was stressed but did it before we have had plenty of rain in last 2 weeks. Got hold of N and some second tillers coming I fortunately but it suddenly looks a bit better. Redshank going back nicely. Don’t think it helps when you don’t have the same crop competition

Same here, lots of weeds germinated after the rain and are flying away, fat hen by far the worst here also, just been one thing after another, seem to be plenty of wild oats kicking around also:banghead:

Noticed in ours there's a lot of chickweed... some quite back....had about 75% rate of su....what would be a cheap option to knock the chickweed?

Spraying one small field again, the rest will probably need glyphosate anyway because of secondary growth.
Bind weed in ours, so combine man won't be happy. Think I'll have to take it out AND pre-harvest roundup for the secondary growth.

That said, the secondary growth looks like being the main part of the yield. What a year.

Absolute nightmare of a year, just not been able to grow any decent crops around here, the weather has well and truly had us beat.

3 weeks ago mine looked like a field of asparagus with only a single ear emerging per plant. I didnt bother spraying a second fungicide as most would have missed the crop and hit the ground but I walked it yesterday and there now a lovely thick crop at flag leaf emergence so I think the second crop now warrants a fungicide. I did half think about maybe a sniff of N to give this 2nd crop the best chance.

Ours only had a sniff of ctl early. Got some zephyr sat in store which am tempted to use. Herbicide is the conundrum. Starane is fairly limited. Will it do fat hen

Mine had half rate ally max and starane along with half a litre of fandango at T1. I normally use su plus mcpa which really curls the fathen up but because of growth stages I used the starane with the su instead, it did kill the fathen but took a long time.

I think I'll go with another 1/2 litre of fandango to see it through.

Got some thinner crop that has perked up, will now chuck some Prothioconazole on it mid week.
Got 20% that still looks thin-ish that hasn't and won't get any fung.

Hindsight think I have over spent on the better half. Had T1 before the hot weather set in so probably could had saved there and T2 before the change in weather week before last.

Flush of cranesbill in part of a field after the rain, won't do anything about it now will have to live with it, SB generally looking OK but definitely thinner and variable
Will be reasonable but will be 15 - 20% down on last year...
