Stale Seedbed old pasture to permanent grass

I ploughed a couple of small fields at the end of May/ beginning of june. Glyphosate before, then rolled and cultivated them using a shallow spring tine cultivator and chain harrows. I then intended to create a stale seedbed with glyphosate. It had been very dry, but the rains started soon after cultivation. My question is, apart from chickweed in one area the weeds have not shot up, there are some seedlings but I would probably expect more after this time? Is it likely to be due to fewer seeds than i expected in the seedbed, ploughed at 6 inches and had not been ploughed in at least 70 years. Do they need more time? Do I just harrow again a few times and then plant?

What weeds are you concerned about, what was growing there before it was ploughed?

By the sounds of it, the weather/soil has been too dry and not much has happened. I would get on and get the stuff in now and hope it rains.

Length of time since it was last ploughed etc is likely no real guide to expecting weed burden, just assume it will be a lot.

Just to clarify, how long is it since last cultivation and rain is it and have you had enough rain to germinate any seed in the top layers . My cutivated fields are green over with all sorts after one month
