Situation Vacant Stockman/tractor driver role available on 1100 head beef unit - Herefordshire

We are a family partnership with a dairy herd in Oxfordshire and the beef unit here in Herefordshire, both of which supply Waitrose. We take dairy cross calves from around 3 weeks, rear and finish them on site. We aim to make the best use of forage, with rotational grazing and quality silages, in an attempt to grow the cattle quickly, but without requiring huge amounts of concentrates.

The role available is very much cattle orientated, with a lot of time spent rearing calves, feeding a TMR, bedding up using a spread a bale or by hand, scraping and other cattle jobs such as weighing, trimming etc... Any time we get away from the cattle is spent fencing, mowing, fert spinning etc. We do have some arable, but leave most of the work to contractors. We do help out with power harrowing etc, but any jobs that require large horse power is left to them.

The salary is dependent on experience and will be discussed prior to any interview. You would be entitled to 35 days annual leave. You're required to work every other weekend, but get an extra half day on the weekend off i.e. friday pm or monday am. We start at 7.15 and aim to finish by 5 on standard day, obviously during busy harvest periods etc that may be significantly later!

There is a house available on the farm. It's a semi-detached 3 bedroom cottage, situated on the farm at a reduced rent.
