Stocks H track (john deere)

Anyone got much experience with stocks H Tracks, seen a few pictures over the years and wonder if they are actually any good and of they can be easily fitted to modern day tractors easily?
Quite like the idea of putting a set on our 7R l, not to worried about the lack of comfort aspect

Thanks

I have looked into Soucy tracks but the price is eye watering 😅 Iv seen a few sets of the old Stocks tracks up for sale recently and they seem to be fairly reasonably priced from about 5k upto 10k which makes them a little more justifiable 🤔

Had a couple of sets, put them on my Axial flow and worked a treat. Sold a set to a guy who put them on a 6r. Anythings possible with a can do attitude.

If you go to look at set make sure the seal round the hub isn’t leaking oil, these can give bother and you can’t get new seals anymore apparently. Cheapest way to get into a set of tracks and very versatile.

Very good to know, there is a set in at JR Firby atm that have come off a combine, look in ok condition maybe need a little bit of work, how do they couple upto a tractor then, do you have to get custom made bars to reduce strain on the axles?

I drove a 8420 with a set on. Had to fit smaller front wheels which drastically reduced ground clearance, biggest Issue was the drive lugs breaking out from the track and they were ridiculously rough when not in the field, so much so the exhaust used to regularly shear off. Went to soucy tracks after, which really didn’t like any stone, and took a lot more maintenance.

I needed 2 sets of seals this year... not had the problem since they were new in 2002.. I think i managed to get the last 2 sets... Ripon and Doubleday supplying. Apparently they were made by CAT but cannot get much joy there unless they were a special order, they are a metal to metal seal so can seal up again when used, as per track marshall hubs I was told.

I’ve seen them..
Check lugs as someone else has mentioned, make sure they’re all in tact and no wires showing. They’re the same rubber track as quadtrack 9380, but different size to newer ones so don’t get told you can get some cheap used ones, as they’re like hens teeth getting.
We never mounted them on a tractor, but guy who bought mine did within a week

They fit on any 10 stud tractor/combine, its the anti rotation bits that will need fabricating, stocks may even have the design for your tractor.

They didnt shelve it, when Deere went global with it a maker in the US pointed out they had the patent and all stock was chopped up.
Ati tracks in US
I phoned them when making axle stops for my combine to ask for some drawings. Got put on hold for ages then someone came on and told me that there was a legal case against Stocks or something 🤷‍♂️ But they wouldn’t help me 🤨

Looks good, whats the crack with tyre ratios then? Thought they would have to put smaller front tyres on 🤔

Very off putting about the lack of seals 🤔 custom job would be expensive 😅
