Got a sumo trio and looking to strip till OSR in behind the legs without discs on to keep soil disturbance to a minimum then have a weaving coulter mount on back. Anyone tried this or any experiences?

We have an old Ransomes 5 leg subsoiler with Trio legs, no discs & a power Harrow type packer, it works well
We have a Techneat seeder on top which drops the seed behind the leg but in front of the packer, we have looked at the Weaving coulter but not sure if it will improve on what we are already doing for extra cost
Your only difference will be with the packer
Our neighbour has the Weaving coulters on a Trio but I wouldn't say his rape is any different to ours when sowed at the same time

We used weaving double disc openers on the back of the trio this years osr and are really pleased with the way it has grown.
We removed the discs, the soil retainers and drilled some more holes in the frame to move the packer forward.
Coulters mounted behind the packer.

I do this. I have a trailed trio and use Tillso Ultralite legs. I drop the discs out the trio which is easy enough and have made a bracket up to fit in the same fixings to support a liquid tank with fert spraying down immediately behind the leg. Then the seed is dropped in front of the packer. I don’t know if a coulter kit would be a justified addition on my ground as this method hasn’t met any issues yet as long as the rolls aren‘t far behind in a dry season.

We have used Weaving coulters this year behind our Quivogne SCD subsoiler. We made the Coulter bar with a bit of depth adjustment on the rear of the packer roller. The crop established well and we were pleased with the seed placement of the Coulter, they seem strong, simple, well made units.

We're moving to no till , use a Trio without discs and low disturbance points where there has been a bale stack or we've made a track corn carting . Works well but beware bringing up Blackgrass from depth .
