I don’t need to growth regulate, the question is will Moddus be worthwhile to help rooting in such dry conditions?

And if so is the extra £2/ha for the Alatrin actually going to be kinder on an already stressed plant or is it just marketing guff?

In dry and conditions when crop is stressed the last thing I would be applying is Moddus.

Your experience might be different.

It's all cobblers. The cheeky feckers don't even bother to put it into a snazzy bottle to try and justify it, it's just the same syngenta bottle with a cleancrop label on and of cause a bigger Mark up!!!!

Non of the trials data I've seen says anything about pgr enhancing rooting and in the absence of lodging will reduce yield, which given how things are at the minute seems quite likely.
Marketing guff. It is still 250 g/l trinexpac as an emulsifiable concentrate. The p*ss I being royally taken. (n)
I had all the marketing guff about it being a better formulation and working better for rooting and being kinder to the crop than moddus etc but oddly when I questioned the fact it was moddus with a different label stuck on they went a bit red faced.
Quite a bit of wheat round here has been badly scorched in the last week or two, obviously I don’t know exactly what they applied. I doubt it needs any extra stress.
All of the crops around here that had pgr at either t0 or t1 look a horrid yellow colour. Theres somebwhich i think have had spring herbs and pgrs and they look like theyve been round upped.
I don't usually use much pgr anyway but it's a definite no no this year. The cold weather after a flying start have really knocked the winter cereals and they're not as lush as they where this time last year. With more dry weather forcast I can't see them needing much growth regulating, unless we get a good amount of rain soon.

Much much less strees in wheat treated in the autumn with chicken manure or bio solids.

Beyond the basics, its the thing which makes the most obvious visual difference of any product.
Good old agrii. I've been there done that ! Send it back and if you really want to use it get generic modus for £20/lt

Bought some for £17/l last night.

Really can’t see any justification for growth reg here in current conditions - even the cheap ctl / teb mix we have just applied questionable right now and had only gone on in case it does decide to start raining soon

Last split of N won’t even go on if we don’t see significant rain soon

“If” bio stimulants do help stress I will be expecting big response to my Bridgeway trial !

Have you disected that, mine is already at leaf three and nowhere near 2nd node, keep checking different plants and only one has been leaf four
No. I could look before I spray! A quick glance in our nearest field and I’m pretty sure the tip of leaf 3 is emerging on most of the main stems. My t0 was a tad early because I put it on before a week away. So it’s the end of next week for us.

Yellow rust on Zyatt round here so I wouldn't leave out the triazole.
I'm going early with teb and CTL plus low rate PGR and Mn mix Mg. The weather can soon change and is forecast windy next week. Cheap leaf 2 spray now planned. Its nice to be spending £10ha not £35. Crops not stressed yet on our clays.

A bit of chlormequat is not going to hurt crops. Jaysus we get 2 days warm weather and people are complaining about a drought...

It rained plenty last week and crops around here look very well.

A leggy crop wants stiffer straw. It doesnt get any shorter.
It may be different where you at but over this side of the country it's certainly very dry, the easterly wind pulled a lot of moisture out of the ground and now the sun is really baking it so for us any pgrs can stay firmly in the store.

The chlormaquat that has been applied has most definitely hurt the crop!!!!

On a separate not I've just been on pigeon patrol on rape and in this heat and dry any plants that have had there guts eaten out by CSFB are now flagging which isn't good.

2 days ? Do you live in the UK ?

70mm total so far this year for some ......... that’s serious and any agronomist that doesn’t change strategy to suit that situation is negligent

Gates and cheque book is shut here until harvest unless we start getting significant rain very soon

No scorch from T0 with a litre of Chlormequat, most of the wheat looks very good, main problem has been the bulb fly in the later drilled.

Next couple of days look warm and still and i have t1 ready to go. How many products are you happy mixing in 20 plus deg days. I have 3 fungicides, two herdicides, one of which is su, ccc@2lt (only growth reg as no t0) and manganese@ 2lt. So 7 way mix. Too hot or get on with it?

Rain has reappeared on the forecast for next week and most of my wheat looks very soft and leggy as soon after its second dose of n it had 13 mm of rain( just over 2 weeks ago)so going to make a start on t1 on Monday and I will be adding modus, the potential is there but it’s no good on the floor

Have just noticed the same thing. All the rain that had disappeared and it is now looking like a rather unsettled week. Potential Easter spray
