I've a pard008lrf on top of my t3x in .204 ruger spotting with xm30s.sounds like a good setup mate. what do use
Not to shabby. PARD is good enough unit, but not best in the woods or high grass. PULSAR XM30s great little spotter and definitely worth the money (not best, but combination price/quality is 100%).I've a pard008lrf on top of my t3x in .204 ruger spotting with xm30s.
You might be a good bloke to know as I'm very keen on them Form stocks. Looking for something with adjustable comb to fit t3x varmint barrel preferably thumbhole... and light as possible! Cheers
Pulsar and Night Pearl have units (front scope add-ons) that would work very well if you buy appropriate ring sizes fro your scopes. They do not effect POI (point of impact) more then 1MOA at 100m range and giving you an opportunity to use all your day/glass scopes as normal.Anyone have any experience of these devices ?

I very much like the look of the Pulsar Krypton thermal adapter/ spotter but i don't have that shirt of cash spare at present.Pulsar and Night Pearl have units (front scope add-ons) that would work very well if you buy appropriate ring sizes fro your scopes. Must be honest, I've not heard of night Pearl...how do they compare with likes of pulsar, infiray? Not to shabby. PARD is good enough unit, but not best in the woods or high grass. PULSAR XM30s great little spotter and definitely worth the money (not best, but combination price/quality is 100%).
I am now working with Night Pearl products and they are also very good, to be fair in our days most thermal units very good. I am waiting for a thermal front add-on unit from GPO (german precision optics) they make one of the best optics on the market too.
Regarding FormRifleStock, you are right - they are great. All my centre fire rifles equipped with FormStocks.
Being brand ambassador for one of the biggest importers like RaytradeUK have some benefits for sure.
Best regards,

there is information that GPO will introduce Thermal add-on unit on to UK market during november/december time and it will be very competitive price.I very much like the look of the Pulsar Krypton thermal adapter/ spotter but i don't have that shirt of cash spare at present.
What do you know of thermal plans from GPO?
Does the difference justify the extra cost?I`ve had a lot to do with NV and TI over the last 10 years , my advice is dont buy an add on , a dedicated scope is always better £ for £ ,Pulsar and Yukon are the best for value for money, quality and back up .
Either get a dedicated rifle for night time or fit a picatinny rail and you`ll be able to switch scope quickly with minimal effect on zero.

its difficult to compare as they all do a good job. Pulsar is obviously leading the show - being most recognised due to be the longest on the market. If you would go point by point on each unit Pulsar would win every time at this time but not by much.Must be honest, I've not heard of night Pearl...how do they compare with likes of pulsar, infiray?
valuable and interesting point, but not everyone needs/wants dedicated rifle for night shooting. Therefore modern add-on units are filling the market space. I've used pulsar and night pearl - both performed great on .17hmr .243 and .308 (the rage from 25 to 180m) by simply changing the fixing rings/clumps and putting them on the scope.I`ve had a lot to do with NV and TI over the last 10 years , my advice is dont buy an add on , a dedicated scope is always better £ for £ ,Pulsar and Yukon are the best for value for money, quality and back up .

there is no need to vary your FAC ticket...Chores the difference justify the extra cost?
My go to rabbiting setup is a Sako Quad .17hmr with a Vortex Hoghunter 2 scope. We use it after dark lamping but it would be good to go thermal. Would I then be disadvantaged in daytime?
It's bad enough for my occasional use justifying a thermal add on at £2.5k-£3k bit to have a whole new rifle as well it's even harder.
Do I have to vary my FAC if I get a thermal add on?
