Thought about going once a day but nutritionist says we would see a drop in yields and would have increase in feed heating up and harder to clean out traughs

Yer forgot to say we feed into feed traughs do have space to try once a day mind maybe worth a trial

Providing you don't leave anything that can heat in the wagon over night it should be fine. Why don't you try feeding once a day for 7 days and see what happens to the bulk tank ?

Are you mixing twice a day or just doing one mix and feeding out twice ?

Isn't the idea of a TMR that it's a balanced diet that cows can eat 24/7 thereby avoiding overloading the rumen?

Never understood the logic behind feeding a TMR twice a day, which in turn means the cows feed stuff themselves twice a day.

Also, less trough space (length) needed if the grub is available 24/7
