Hello

Would like to hear People’s thoughts or even better experince with tine seeder on light sandy soil, both with or without plowing the land first.
My concern is to put the seed to deep, mainly In plowed land.

I've done more with Suffolk coulters and discs than tines tbh, but the constant with pretty much all of them is preparation. A cultipress or similar is a wise investment and makes for much better establishment through more accurate drilling

Horsch co3 run for 10 years followed by 8 years on a Horsch sprinter mostly into one pass tilled Sandy loam. Occasionally used on ploughing and direct drilling. Old drill mostly used on duet coulters but current one on 5” Dutch coulters. Full width tyre packer on front of 4m sprinter gives much better seeding depth control compared to co3 which used the tractor linkage arms to control front depth. It varied depending on weight of seed in hopper and low tracotntyre pressures. This system has suited me much better than the accord Suffolk coulters in the past. The boulder clay patches now have much better plant stands.
