I put very thin cow slurry on some dry stubble one year after I sowed stubble turnips, did it twice over 4 days, day 5 they were up and made hell of a crop

How much are you paying……..
I never ask for work to be done at a particular price .but of course it would need to be in a ball park.
No, my only and main requirement ( as with every job here) is for it to be done as thoughtfully as I would do it myself.

Put in 10 acres with this today borrowed off a neighbour, worked incredibly accurate at 1kg/acre at 8mph so went over at an angle the second pass

Yeah but that’s where the second pass comes handy to roll in, also spreaders circa 12m wide which was good so hopefully nice and even. The seed will grow on the surface well enough anyway…..

How much difference does N make without rain?
My mistake ---went in 13/8/21 so 23 days
However, right or wrong my policy is to sow ---end of story
No sprays , no fert ---too easy to pour cash into what should be a cheap crop
Just sow plenty and accept some failure/poor crops

How do you direct drill turnips without sprays ,or is it stubble and do you have your own drill, just trying to get my head around what it's cost you
DD into stubble (hate sprays) with a contractor or the landowner
£20/acre tops + seed
Should add that sometimes a landowner will roll if we think it's going to be dry
