Thanks, I’d assumed it had to be those. It was just the second photo of the door going up into position just seemed to show the bolt and I was scratching my head trying to figure out where the rollers were!

What a week, King Kev and Cool Hand Luke still chasing water leaks, Boss Man Chris and Brother Paul chasing wheat and digging over big bang gas pipes!

Cool Hand Luke and King Kev started the week chasing more water leaks. The first was on an irrigation system which the client decided the best thing to do would be to just turn it off as there is a spiders web of pipes and none of them mapped.

The leak near Warwick, which I said they should be finishing last Friday “evolved” into replacing an old black water pipe. The lads found several leaks as they plugged on as well as several repairs, old trough feeds, several de-funked water pipes and even buried stop taps that looked as if that was all that was available at the time of repair!! It has been quite an experience but they are all done and dusted on the pipe install, just the tarmac surface to replace, but that will be next week now.

Had an emergency call from one of our old clients asking us to have a look at the pumps in their cellar as the cellar seems to be taking on water. Boss Man Chris took Dillybob who grabbed our small 2” pump to take with them. After a quick look at the pumps it was clear to see they were kaput. The cellar needed a little bit of dewatering and as Boss Man Chris was rolling out the lay flat hose Dillybob had a worried look come across his face. He was convinced that the lay flat hose had been used as a dart board! Boss Man Chris on the other hand was far more confident, so much so he merrily rolled out the hose through the kitchen, across the hallway and down the stairs to the cellar. I am pleased to report that the cellar is dry again, the house has not been subject to any pin hole spray problems and the new pumps should be with us today all being well.

Boss Man Chris and Brother Paul had job near Temple Grafton today. A small job but serious nonetheless. The client has a significant wet spot in his field, biggest problem here being the wet spots location. It was directly above a 48 inch high pressure gas main. We cautiously joked first things about being able to see it from the office if they got it wrong, but with the Cadent gas man on site marking out and watching us dig whilst we crossed it all was well. The digger was back in the yard at lunchtime and no loud bangs were heard so things must have gone well. Need to say a massive thanks to Cadent for their speedy service on this, fantastic communications and generally just being good eggs, cheers.

It is that mad time of year, that one we all call harvest, amongst other things I can only imagine. Boss Man Chris has been on night and day shifts with the combine and besides an “Oh Bugger” moment earlier this week with grey clouds and wee dash of rain things, I understand, are going well. Brother Paul has been carting along with the straw baling etc. Dillybob is doing his usual Combine mechanic every morning getting the big yellow beast, blown out, fueled up, greased, windscreens polished, empty costa cups removed ready for the day ahead. He even took some photos!! I was more amazed than anyone about this as around machines he is almost God like, give him a smart phone and he is more Fisher Price (other children’s toys are available).

Pleased as punch with himself for taking photos with a phone and for not getting his 4 wheeled drive truck stuck in a dry field for a change, Dillybob has been a chirpy chappy this week, especially as Boss Lady Jeanette re-stocked the biscuit cupboard (for which we are all grateful thank you Jeanette). I did expect to see Dillybob sleeping in the workshop after we learnt that despite wearing gloves whilst painting the back end of the 10/12, (he is an perfectionist), he decided to take his work home with him and see what his kitchen floor would look like in Mastenbroek buff. Apparently Mrs Dillybob was not in favour!!

Fantastic week lads, thanks for all the hard work and the laughs that go with it. Have a splendid weekend, rumour control says the sun will be shining. See you all on Monday, till then, stay safe and stay smiley.
