Too late for kale fodder crop ?

I’m reseeding an x cover crop only 3 acre and I’m now wondering if I’m too late to put a quick crop in for some lambs over winter then do proper re seed next year. I’m on an upland farm sw Scotland. Ground in question is bit of hill ground but with good bit of soil
