Can you post up the instructiIon you received to get into the WAS calibration? As per video above and robt’s subsequent comment the dealer code to enter the various calibration screens should be 1234 (as per compass and mounting bias calibrations you did).
I'll try and link it, I didn't need a code to program the compass and mount bias. but all I get when I enable the front steer cal is a tuning page that the dealer needs to do? Rep called me back but was stumped also.

Presumably you’ve got the right steering profile loaded (AES-25 as the controller) and the dealer walked you through the setup and checked to make sure the WAS was enabled in the setup (from page 3-11 in the guide onward)

Yes, I have the Correct tractor, ( its the only one loaded in unit now) and I have the AES-25 selected. Not sure why i need WAS when I'm running RTK?

As said you can run without a WAS. Disconnect it from the loom and disable it as above, in the steering setup pages.

When your ground dries up sufficiently I’d get in and run some actual tests, and tune the agressiveness etc as described in that installation guide.

Back to your point of having a WAS. It basically informs the steering controller where the wheels are pointed and to what degree. The electric steering wheel (or the orbitrol valve in a steer ready tractor) can’t really tell you precisely where the wheels are pointed. The WAS provides extra information or feedback to the steering controller, that aids in reactiveness and oscillation of the steering. It should sharpen the steering response basically.

Once you start using your autosteer setup this will all start to make more sense, as you will see it and feel it for yourself, rather than words on a screen or in a booklet.

It has taken quite a while to make everything work. I would not wait for the fields to dry, you can test the tractor on your farm roads or elsewhere in the farm. One AB-line or a curved wayline is sufficient for testing.

Well I got to the next level!! And STOPPED AGAIN. I believe I hit the % button. then there is a pad lock on the top left of the next screen. hit that and enter code 2468, takes you to WAS tuning, or I high lighted WAS and then was tuning. I didn't change anything there, hit green check and back to screen to calibrate WAS, and now it was high lighted red. hit that and I get!!! Wait for it. "operation not permitted" WTF.. Steering controller is not initialized!!!! Now how the hell do you do that??? REP had the support stumped on how to open WAS!! Now I'll wait til monday I guess.. as he's done at 5, but support is on west coast! They have 2 more hrs. Nothing in the manual about either of these.. I guess they forgot to update that..

I’m not quite sure what menu/screen you’ve got through to. See how you get on with the dealer on Monday.

There’s also a bloke (Tango375) from south aussie on the Combine Forum that also might be able to help. He claims to have setup and tuned “dozens” of these particular Topcon steering setups.

Might be worth a shot getting in touch with him if your dealer draws a blank.

Or you could just call Doug, as I suggested about 3 weeks ago. If it costs you 200 bucks it’s cheap. What price do you put on your time?

Would that be Doug from Farm Tech? Well I thought that since I was buying my system upgrades from Topcon that Someone there would know what the hell they sell and service. Even though its 7 years old. I did find Farm Tech LLC and gave Doug a call, he could help with some manuals, or search through some, but has not worked with system 150 for a few years. But did say it should steer good at 5 mph without WAS enabled. And that the AES-25 could have version 1, and would need version 2 or 3 to work???? Anyone know how to check that?

I may be wrong however on some products it says the version on the serial number sticker. I think he is correct about it needing to be version 2 or higher. On the switch box you will find the sticker.
Personally if it was me. I’d go without WAS. I installed lots of AES-25’s on machines and never fitted the WAS. If you tune it correctly (settings will be unique to each machine) it’ll perform excellent.
Try it on some concrete with the tractor to get it initially tuned prior to connecting it up to the seeding rig.

Well the sticker on the AES-25 says part # A3819 REV 1.0 so I guess I'm out of luck.. or can they be Updated? to or a newer version? 2.0 , or 3.0?

I honestly can’t remember. I have once changed software but it was many many years ago. Like I said though. You won’t need WAS for your tractor

I was told I would. So I bought it. Had I known! Thanks for the help.
Still wet in a few areas in all my fields. Nice drying day today, worked fixing a broken tile line, What a mess!! A tile coming out of a DNR area was full and plugged on our property. I dug down and found a new plastic tile about a ft. under the cement one. pulled out the next one and Wow a gush of water, filled the hole, decided to scoop out the plastic with the hoe. Then went back and dug trench to big intake and broke into the cement tile again. water everywhere..

Well, I'm trying to to test the auto steer, and now I have a red line in the steering status screen. One OP manual says to check power to AGI? Yes I have disabled the WAS. Is there something else I've missed?

I've called Doug again, and he said switch to com 2 and that should clear it up. It did NOT. I still have a RED status bar on the steering controller. One thing I was looking at was an open ended cable coming off the x45, it has a yellow end with 5 pins. Would this need a terminator cap?

I have SUCCESS!! After a couple more chats with Doug @ Farmtech I have AES working. He suggested to create new tractor profiles. And also said anytime you change a setting you have to reboot the system. Both the X45 and the AES. Plus turn the steering wheel left then right to wake it up the AES. I'll be uploading the newest software for the AES. When I get my account with Farmtech set up!
I have a lot of tweaking to do with the steering yet, But am learning.
Question??? I have a mounted planter 12 row 30 " It is HEAVY! What do I enter for the width 360" and then a negative off-set? or just put 390" in as a width? with zero offset? I'll be back, rained a little so in field testing is out for now.
Many Thanks!! to all who helped here on this site.!!! You were Much more productive than the topcon REP's
