Tractor discounts

Hi we are in the process of buying a new tractor. We have had quotes back from a couple of dealers but the difference in list price to retail price is quite different between the two, i.e. the % the dealer has allowed. What % discount would you normally expect to be given off list price?

The reason I ask is that both tractors list price is very similar but the retail prices are a few thousand different. Annoyingly the colour of tractor o would have preferred to have bought retails as the more expensive of the two.

I priced a john deere once and the dealer had one on the yard ready to go,he said it was "£54000,what are you trading in?""Nothing it's a straight deal" " In that case it's £47000 then". Amount to get on the yard is the only thing and don't worry how they arrive at the figure

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
