A tractor driver has suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries after being involved in a collision with a tug vehicle at King George Dock in Hull last Saturday (February 13).

A witness to the accident said that as many as 10 police cars, ambulances and fire engines attended the scene of the incident at the port at around 11:45am on the morning of February 13.

The tractor fell onto its side as a result of the collision and the driver was rushed to hospital.

A police spokeswoman said: “On Saturday, February 13, at approximately 11:45am we received reports of a two vehicle collision on King George Dock, Hull.

A tug vehicle and a tractor had collided causing the tractor to end up on its side.

Over here a tug is a boat, so what was the tractor doing on the water
Yes tug boat

but also this is a tug...the white unit ... they are used / based at the docks /Ro Ro or around a big freight yard ....to drag the trailer or container from the boat to the road going / collecting tractor unit.

Funny enough there was one for sale on Facebook earlier, I fancied it but not sure what it would be like on our tracks

They are mostly four wheel drive so should handle tracks ok
It looked sound, the thought occurred to me that if it could be road registered as say an ag vehicle, could use it to pull a stock box.
I don't know much about them though tbf, it just sounded good manual box no fancy electrics sort of thing, I don't know if it was 4x4 .
