Triton direct seed drill

I often do wonder whether if Triton as a company (or at least its marketing department) didn't exist whether this would actually be quite a popular drill...stick a Kuhn or Sumo badge on it and it would probably gain a bit of traction. The whole "and AminoA" (a completely non independently trialed product) aspect to Triton just feels a bit grubby. Why can't the drill stand on its own two feet?

Twitter user Triton Yorkshire has some interesting tweets, maybe are very similar to post on TFF coincidentally

@R J H I really think you should disclose your commercial link / connection with Triton drills because as funny and entertaining as this thread has been we can not knowingly allow forum members to be mislead

Your IP address resolves to Pontefract area which unless I'm mistaken is in Yorkshire

It's a big mistake to thing farmers are too stupid to join the dots themselves

Think you'll find Triton Yorkshire is dealer from Flamborough called Steve Gowan.

Can you share why Triton (a company you have no connection with) would share details of their customers with you ? This is a clear breach of GDPR if they have and if I was the customer I would be taking action. At the very least it is an extremely unprofessional way to conduct business

Then there was the drill the AHDB bought................ but didn't !!

You do yourself no favours - this drill is a laughing stock amongst farmer, not because of the drill itself but because of the ridiculous markets strategy, treating farmers like idiots, claiming VERY silly yields and overnight cures for blackgrass etc

For what its worth I think the drill has some good features, certainly a good late drilling / wet weather option I suspect - maybe stick to those facts might be a wiser marketing strategy

As for "my" system ?? I don't sell any brand of drill, if I did I would certainly say so. Nothing unusual about the way I farm, many others do the same with various brands of machinery, none I'm aways of make the crazy claims that you do or make it their sole purpose on TFF to tell the world how great their drill (that they don't profit from selling) is ! Have you EVER posted on TFF on any other thread than this one ?

You use this forum solely to promote Triton - normally under this sites T&C's that you agreed to when joining you would have either received a bill for that or had content deleted. I'm not sure you are self are to understand the only reason this thread hasn't been deleted and we still allow you to post is because of it's absolute comedy value for our members !

Haha you are making far too much in ad revenue from this thread to ban him! It's 90% of the reason I'm here

The mental gymnastics here:

Its like anyone involved in Triton just makes up figures as they go along and expect not to be challenged. "It was 2t/ac but this is a conservative estimate as we have absolutely no way of telling, so we'll just assume it was 3T/ac", "it costs £1/ac to run this drill if you disregard the cost of the tractor, fuel, labour, depreciation, cost of purchase, finance". Sometimes I feel bad about ridiculing them but then they double down with more absurdity.

And since this thread gives me so much joy in my meaningless life, I want to return to this page on their website:

And the final line

Under UK and worldwide patent law ‘no crop produce can legally be used for commercial purposes if unlicensed patent designs have been used in producing the crop’.

I love the fact that they put that in quote marks as though it is taken from a legal declaration. Its such utter meaningless waffle. I would love to see the legal basis behind that.

first wheat cut on very heavy clay drill 2nd nov, triton 10-11 tons ha, power harrow 9-10 tons all same inputs.
limestone drilled 2 week oct power harrow drilled 11-12 tons ha, triton 10-10.5ha not a black grass field.same input's
late oct drilled limestone triton 11 tons ha, power harrow drill 9 tons ha, this field has been posted in previous post's, power harrow drilled had 40 units 0f N more and extra amino a, do's not matter what drill is used in october but late drilling must be a triton in november when wet. with amino a , my first results. on w wheat. it,s what give best results on your land. I bought the triton for late drilling black grass fields. which seem to have worked. no drill work's best on all land. when I bought the drill I agreed to post my finding, this I am doing to the best of my ability, I am a farmer not a sale's man .you are welcome to inspect my crops,

I had a look at one at cereals and I'm sure my wheat is doing 1/2t an acre more than normal just because I looked at it.
Same, I also thought I'd get some good results with the AminoA but I just had a look at my gatekeeper records and I've actually used AminoB ! So close! Another failed year. I should just give up farming and get in to drill manufacturing.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
