Triton direct seed drill

Well lads it's time for all you doubters to eat humble pie, kept it quiet but we drilled one field with the Triton in the snow, then irrigated it with amino A, here's the results(Any suggestions the header width got confused will be met with the usual response)

Aren't you a bit disappointed that it didn't make 150 t/ha?

Would cost a fortune to dry all that grain at that moisture content, Triton drills are rubbish!

If you use a fendt to pull your Triton, I'm reliably informed you need *two* spare tanks for the fuel and #aminoA they actually produce. And you can all afford a fendt now with all that dosh you earnt contracting with your drills at 320ha a day output.

Any time now we shall hear that Triton have a combine that works in monsoon conditions yielding averaging 15 tons of wheat at 14% moisture at 10 ha an hour.

It did cross my mind to mention a certain black/dark grey combine but astute TFF members may think I was just making up a jackanory story. Anybody drilling their rape during storm Ellen with a triton this weekend. Should yield 7 ton ha next July.

Has anyone sensible tried & tested the drill and offered a balanced view on it? I haven’t seen many used drills advertised which I presume means either that the users are happy with it or the resale value is so poor it’s not worth selling. This can’t be said for a number of strip till drills.

I’m sure they work perfectly ok but it’s just the claims by the makers that are ridiculous

^^^^^ this ^^^^^

Let's face it, getting a seed into some soil is not overly tricky. The reason this thread is so ace is a combination of a) how it is marketed and b) how the makers Twitter feed is managed.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
