Last year one of the local farms bought a lovely Valtra T174 Direct and put it to work alongside their JD fleet. 1500 hours down the line and they have just traded it in for a new 6155R as they couldn't get on with the Valtra !! Too many electrical issues apparently. I suspect its biggest failing was its lack of Green and Yellow paintwork;). Although its interesting to note that the farmyard literally next door have just added a third Valtra T234 to their fleet and ousted their last JD in the process . Well we all have biases don't we.

Everyone likes different things, everyone buys what they buy for their own reasons. No ones right, no ones wrong.
People have been predicting Deere's demise for years, maybe one day they'll be right?‍♂️

I drive a valtra n174 direct and much prefer it to the other 2 tractors on the estate, a jd 6215 directdrive and a fendt 828. Obviously the valtra won't do some jobs the other 2 will but the valtra is still my first choice. My only niggle with the valtra is the time it takes to change from c-d and d-c range.
