Vegan animal sanctuary

Be fine if it was possible for vegans and the wokes to have their own little commune, away from this horrible unjust world.

I’d give them about 3 weeks for it to turn into a bloodbath once it becomes apparent to all involved that activism and campaigning doesn’t actually sustain life without benevolence from the very society they seek to destroy.
Modern day lord of the flies?

Now this really boils my pish

Vegans have bought a local house with ten acres of boggy scrub attached, and set up a "sanctuary".

They've very successfully raised money by "crowd funding" for fencing and materials.

Now they're looking for volunteers to look after the animals they've "saved".

Meanwhile, they're knocking on the farm door asking for any spare pet lambs 🤬

Ideas on how to calm myself down before going ahead and arranging house warming delivery of a meat and dairy hamper from the supermarket?

Volunteers wanted at a local animal sanctuary

This is a good thing because they’ll realise it’s not easy looking after animals. What we need is a film crew following this story over the coming months and years till it collapses and the rspca is called in to sort it out when a bull kills somebody or the animals are being looked after properly.

Surely a local dairy farm can benevolently donate them 60 or 70 calves a year, on condition they get to visit the beautiful wee dears twice a year and say that rehoming unmolested. entire male calves to a sanctuary is heart warming. Heck, I'm sure folk from miles around would donate calves and less than perfect lambs etc. It should rocket the appeal of the sanctuary with so many cuddly babies to fuss over.

We went to go shearing on a farm animal sanctuary a couple of years ago, by far the most cruel place that I have ever been to, a massive newly built shed full of ewes that couldn't stand up (I refused to shear them because they where not fit to get out of the shed). They had a bunch of ewes and lambs that had be "rescued" from market, the ewes where emaciated, I said to the girls that they need weaning and the lambs needs some creep, but apparent weaning is "cruel". The owner who is a nasty piece of work has made millions off gullible people and exploiting these young girls (there where probably fifteen 16 - 25 year old girls there working for free).

The road to Hell is paved with good intentions

But if you get it right it's big business. See Hillside for an example.

And now everyone wants in on the act.

There was a piece in the American "Animal Cops" TV series about a vegetarian cat hoarder. She had been feeding her numerous cats on a meat free diet (mostly rice) and the cats were all emaciated, diseased, or already dead. She did not realise that cats are carnivorous and unlike dogs and humans require essential amino acids only found in meat and fish. I believe the cats were re-homed. Learn something new every day!

Fairly sure that humans require some amino acids from meat too - can’t remember which one but used to know a guy who travelled the world for the WHO investigating “vegan” tribes in remote places to understand where they were getting it from - rat droppings in Tibetan rice stores was one source.
