Do forum user names have a sales value @Clive ......... Can I sell my name if the right company asked?

lol ........ no ! but if yo can sell something that has no value then go for it, people have sold London bridge in the past after all ! ........... and if to did have any value we would just take it :ROFLMAO:

your a good example of what the blue tick is for though- you are not New Holland as far as we are aware

can't please everyone, we have to accept that and not try to, there are about a dozen members that have commented on this thread, 250,000 visit this site every month so the vast ,majority clearly don't care or like it, anyone that don't like it simply can ignore it

there are a lot of other changes planned in coming months, it will be a miracle if everyone likes them all

It is usual to at least listen (as you have) to the people that pass comment rather than assume the ones not commenting are agreeable. If this is not the case then there is no point having a community feedback section at all.

It’s probably safe to assume that most of the 250,000 members not commenting have absolutely no idea what it means.

As you feel it has to be there it’s better as the current light blue and a tick than the original (but equally pointless:))

It's something we have been playing with yesterday for commercial members and members that use a company name as a TFF username to verify they are who they say they are - similar to the blue tick that twitter gives to “official” company or celeb accounts

We have had people try to sign up with usernames like xxx from syngenta or @ John Deere etc that when checked are not from those companies and this is something we have wanted to put in place for a while to try and avoid such miss representations
so how do you go about getting "verified" ?
wouldn't want to stay with the riff raff who are up to something and out to con everyone, much better with the "elite"

You apply to become either a directory (commercial) member which allows posting if comercial content, this is a paid option or regular posters can use those TFF points they have to get a free listing. In doing so you will fill out a form with details like contact phone number etc and we will call you

Or if not commercial but using a real name you want to verify you phone us up and we will go through various checks to be as sure as we can that you are who your username suggests

However as posted earlier and is the case on twitter it is still to be used as a guide and not a guarantee

We do listen, and we have already made several changes based on feedback in this thread (wording / shade of blue etc) . TFF can not be run by committee, if it was nothing would ever change or get done !

The vast majority of members clearly don’t care, very few of you have commented on this thread and we have duty to make this site as safe as we can. If this helps just 1 person then it’s a success imo. As I said anyone who doesnt like it can simply ignore it
