Vit E inject to ewes before lambing worth while?

Just wondering if jabbing ewe about 3 weeks before lambing boots the lambs viability? Yes, we do bolus (land short in sel & Col) but assuming that the bolus has run its time/failed/spat out. Is it a worth while exercise? Our lambs are very small at birth but do thrive. Their growth is adequate (grassland issues being addressed this year). If you do jab the ewe how long will the lamb carry the Vit E in their system? I dont intend to keep bringing these lambs in to drench and not overly impressed with bolus the young lambs as many cant be done as very small or born a bit later - so the first lambs could be 2m older that the youngest as there is a gap happening there. I see some use Smartshot for lambs is B12 as a better option than the dreaded bolus?

Thoughts from experience please.

We bolus ewes prior to tupping and again at scanning to carry good trace elements into the lamb and in the milk. At pitching time when the lambs are younger and we cannot consider a bolus as they are too small we inject with Smartshot B12 costs me 80p a lamb we do give the higher dose mind you. Very pleased with results 2 boluses to ewes and then the injection to lambs should be treated as a three pronged attack dont drop any one of them as you need to keep levels up of Sel and Co. Smartshot is imported from New Zealand and does not include selenium but is very good
