Wales Farm Business Grants....

Yeah, you have to wonder......
I was one of those despicable people who got a grant for a poultry shed in 2004 via FC.
Back in those days they dithered about giving the OK for 18 months. That lost 18 months of production would have paid for 40% of the shed anyway.........
And what if they'd said no......
But I digress.....

I was just thinking there must be a lot of older steel framed buildings around with roofs that are starting to go along with knackered guttering. Are there any grants around for repairs or replacement of an asbestos roof?

And more importantly, a grant for disposing of the old asbestos........

You'll be wanting a grant to put diesel in the tractor next! ;)

went to the meeting !oh what a joy !! now its a game of playing to get a high score !!!

Was a high score or low score what is required? Went to it last night. A lot of people confused but I think I'm quite familiar with it now!
Euryn had a good applause when he said the talk in Cardiganshire the biggest question from farmers was how long do you have to keep it :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Anyone got a link to the actual list with amounts available per item? Also any idea on some of the manufacturers you can get a quote from?

Has anyone asked in these meetings " for every pound of grant paid to farmers, how much will have been spent on administering the scheme? " It's a sad reflection on us that just mention a bit of grant money ,we all run to attend and grovel for the money, money that has been taken from us in the first place! On principal we should all boycott and tell them to shove their money. When all the hangers on ,on the gravy train ,had no farmers to beg for their pittance, then they would really begin to appreciate us farmers,

I see that from the 3rd of July 2017 they will cut the funding of the machinery and equipment training courses from 80% to 40%.Robbing Peter to pay Paul?

I really don't know what FC are playing at. They reduce or remove funding on practical things that farmers actually want yet they're hell bent on starting up discussion groups (with most meetings during the day I should add!:finger::poop::mad:) and getting us to seek advice from consultants. There must have been dozens of them at the Aber meeting. I assume they're all on 20+k per annum plus there's an office full of admin staff at Aber too. OK, I accept it's creating jobs for local women (they are nearly all women) but that's where the effing budget is all going!

Shouldn't worry, the price of the courses will mysteriously drop. I did my spraying tickets across the border (where there aren't training grants) through a Shropshire contractor who is a member here. Funnily enough it was substantially cheaper than locally...

Let's get rid of all these hangers on, forget their stupid grants, and not go hear their meetings, and while we're at it ,tell the Farm Assurance to bugger off. Farm assurance wanted to do an inspection, I said no more, we didn't vote for Brexit to put up with any more of their nonsense! And as they took my cash by direct debit in Jan,I said I would like at least 7 months of it returned. ,To my supprise had the whole year repaid! So yes we could all be rid of these hangers on if we wanted and had a bit of backbone!

Wow. I never realised that FA was down to Europe. I always thought it was an idea from UK farmers. Silly me.

I was hoping to insulate my potato store under it, but there's just some mention of insulated dividing panels:unsure:, whatever they are, so its a no from me.

Me neither, for several reasons.

1. I suspect it will be massively oversubscribed in the first couple of rounds (at least), so might look later on.
2. I don't 'need' anything on the list at the moment.
3. Still got to find the 60% from somewhere.
4. I really couldn't conjure up the enthusiasm to go to a meeting and hear how wonderful FC are.
