I would forget about the old pipe, you could waste ages and find you can’t get all the way through it because it has crushed or something.
you need to find someone with one of those worm things and just stick a new one in.
ideally a private water main contractor for a reasonable fee on their way home one day. Go through the water company and it will cost ££££

Farm next to me had pipes pushed underground a couple hundred yards at a time to service water troughs. How it works I’ve no clue but supposed to be half the price of digging and very acurate

We have started digging a new supply to the house , plumber coming tomorrow to connect into the hot water cylinder in our garage.
Supply to dairy yet to be decided ! bought a roll of 20 mm pipe to try and thread up the existing pipe when we get it disconnected.
we will give it a go. if its a no its the long way round and through the sheds above ground.

Updates please.
If you can rod up the exg pipe with a coil similar to the telecom folk use and bring with it a fishing line then you can pull through a 6mm line which can then be attached to the 20mm and help gently pull.

I am a mole fan in the right conditions but if you are digging in plastic I would suggest a trace wire is taped to the new pipe.
