The newish discovery at the front made me laugth, then all the nearly new tractors.

I'm privellaged landed gentry & even I though what a nonsense.
'kin typical. Why shouldn't a farmer own a newish Discovery or a nearly new tractor? We work 'kin hard enough for them. Our local drug dealer can drive a top of the range Range Rover and he's the scum of the earth but a farmer has to be a 'kin peasant all his life.
I know you go as Devil's advocate and like to provoke a response which is good to give others their chance to air their views so this is my response and I thank you for the opportunity. (y)
By the way, the tractors today received unbelievable support from motorists and bystanders.

True but tractors are instantly recognisable as being farmers.

There is a lot of anger at the moment. And truth be told, it’s probably better that some are contained within their vehicles than roaming the streets of Cardiff
Full support to you all. The public in general couldnt give a rats A--- about us and you have to bring things to a head with everything you can
I have missed hospital appointments before all booked months prior, TRAFFIC, ACCIDENTS ect, 10 minutes late and Im turned away, pointing to a sign saying ABUSED TO OUR STAFF WILL NOT BE TOLLERATED, I hardley opened my mouth, in a que. who do i blame ACCOUNTANTS/SOLICITERS/ MECHANICS/CHEFS ect, who caused me to be late. Train delayed in transit going to london appointment, late, canceled, would have been 2 hrs early, who do i blame?
Jnr Docs on strike, so senior consultants covering, apps canceled, thats if they get past the traindrivers strike.

Others look out for their cause, BUT US

I think UK wide we should come out to support each other, after all were all farmers. Maybe not scots yet as they may have had a better result so far

Doing the same here: only 50 acres less barley but just not worth all the hassle for about £150/ poxy tonne!

Basically growing a crop that nobody really wants and ripening the real risk of making a loss if the weather is dodgy at any time from March to September!

Been there and done it far too often, even when prices were just about good enough to make a margin. Now they are carp and I am 67 so its bye bye spring barley and good riddance!
Above should read ‘risking’ not ‘ripening’.

IMO we should look into aligning ourselves with other justifiably disillusioned groups. Not saying do so as a knee jerk reaction, but through dialogue with those such as RMT union who are being shafted by big business in an attempt to cut down on ticket offices etc etc

Junior doctors who again are being grossly underpaid for what responsibility they carry. The steel workers of Port Talbot who face being sacrificed at the altar of ‘carbon emissions’ and increased profits for Tata steel which will not only cost thousands of jobs but will destroy communities in West Wales.

IMO we can gain a lot of mutual support from the public by ourselves supporting similar protests from other sectors of society that are undervalued and being exploited by both government and big business.

“Mae na nerth mewn union!” (Strength in unity!)
