Yes but there are degrees of dependence on our integrated tech world would say. We certainly don’t depend on FaceBook, Amazon, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter a dare I say TFF for species survival. The world could actually be a calmer place without distractions like that even for a wee while.

Nuclear power stations will still work and water will still continue to flow (I bloody hope) should there be a massive internet outage tomorrow.

Supermarket shelves rely on their own internal logistics computing and networking infrastructure to maintain JIT deliveries from depots to stores. Granted. But Joe Public can still shop and survive without relying on Ocado and Tesco delivers.

We shouldn’t be led to believe we are critically dependent on the internet for survival.

I think we are very dependant now - so many just in time stock systems depend on the internet, supermarkets would fall down very quickly as would most transport networks

communication drives most things now so break the communications and its all gets very hard

I think that @Clive may be more worried about the lack of traffic to TFF more than civil disorder:rolleyes:

no comparison tele handler every time you would never go back
Needs to be working a lot when looking at the prices. And then they plummet in value when they hit 4000h. Only job that we'd need one for would be for moving pallets. Wheel loader would be superior on our jobs and would hold its value much better.

Most transport networks would collapse without the internet? You do know that phones can still make calls don't you? You know, the old style ones, fastened to the wall with a wire? The ones that ran fax machines back in the day? Sure, it'd be inconvenient, but if you're that dependent on t'internet, you maybe need to have a look at your risk management policy.....

of course phone calls can replace online transactions but the man power is not there waiting "just in case" the systems that are in place that run our key transport and supply chain networks fails

btw the phone network is probably also very dependant upon the internet as well now I would think

trains, planes and automobiles all depend on computers and the internet heavily - from control systems, saftey systems to fuel supply networks ......... if you walked into an airport (once they had bi passed the automatic barriers, car parks, security systems , cameras etc ....... if the staff could even clock on or get to work that is) how would your passport be checked, tickets verified etc ....... then how would you know which gate to go to

It would be carnage if the net was down for a week

it was bad enough when just 1 mobile network went down for a few hours before Christmas

I bet you are more dependant on the net than you imagine, your customers factories and ,mills and onward supply chain will be very network driven, if they go down then so do you

keep in mind that 10mm of snow can bring this mighty country to a halt these days !

Auto steer and towards the other end of the scale our hustler bale unroller. Has made feeding dry cows and bedding up a doddle for us. So much silage saved and no dust when bedding.

For the outdoor pig job, the "Nut Chucker" as we call it for metering and flinging sow rolls into paddocks. Saved lots of bad backs. I won't mention the name of the machine as the man who invented it is a grade one arsehole who tried to fleece me out of 12.5 grand.
The machine is now made by John Harvey Engineering.
