My wife has reopened her cafe today after a week off being unsure what to do , the staff are willing to work the main trade ( lorry drivers) have been really struggling to find somewhere to park up with food available. We’re now running a skeleton staff and a take away only menu .
pleased to hear that its been a nightmare on the roads these last two weeks no hot drinks no toilets showers etc all closed very few open

I dunno. Some of us are staying home, and mothballing our holiday cottages, whilst others are wanking about delivering drainage pipes and opening cafes.?‍♂️
That a bit off a daft thing to say imo , not sure about pipes but our truck stop is supporting ( wanking about in your words ) 30-50 lorry’s a night who are delivering food and goods around the country. We’re not getting many general public in even though the local mc d and subway are shut .

There's a lot of folk sitting around on their behinds needlessly & getting paid for it, meanwhile there are hundreds of thousands of shop workers on barely more than minimum wage out there doing their job in one of the riskiest environments & facing abuse from customers... we have NHS staff out there facing the risks on pee poor pay, cops, soldiers & others out there doing their jobs whilst folk who could be productive are being paid not to be. With a bit of common sense there is no need for the level of shutdown we've seen, but no it's far easier to take the shilling & do sod all!

You need to update your website then, it says you're completely closed for food:scratchhead:

(I was looking for some pictures of the tank, plane and gun :D )

The horse has bolted now - perhaps it would have been a good idea to stop travellers to the alps when the infection broke out there,

Planes should have been grounded at the end of January. Still 1 million Brits abroad ATM.
Lockdown at least 3 weeks earlier.
A proper lockdown too, not giving in after a week.
Maybe there should have been a lock down in January, a lockdown at our borders, only ones out, foreign nationals, only ones in brits with a compulsory quarantine, things could have carried on largely as normal for the rest of us.

But would folk have stood for it? Foreign holidays cancelled and as for a quarantine of those returning, I think there would have been uproar.

With hindsight it may well have been a better option than where we are now but I really don’t think a lot of people would believe it could happen to us until they saw folk dying.
Indeed a mate of mine went skiing In Austria for a few days with some other guys less than a month ago, the following week I saw him in market and asked him if he really ought to be out and about considering he’d been out of the country. He was absolutely full of himself, no way he could have got it, not even remotely possible. He wasn’t in market the next week and by last week the markets were on drop and go so no socialising. However another mate rang me and said first mate was now keeping a low profile as he might have it. By complete coincidence mother was on the phone to his mother and said he’d got a cold so hopefully he’s ok but with the shear arrogance he showed to the fact he could possibly get it I hope he sh!t himself. Not only is his mother elderly and vulnerable but so is my father, he’s one of the ones who’s received a letter telling him not to go out for at least 12 weeks and he’s well aware that I have a crucial role in looking after dad yet never bothered to let me know he’d been ill, not that there’s a lot I could do by then but as I say, it’s the shear arrogance of it couldn’t happen to him that gets me.

I really don’t think most people would have believed CV would ever get here when the news first broke in China, indeed they wouldn’t even believe it when it got to Italy.
